Everyone

has a

“Best Friend”

Story.

What's Yours?
  • How do women find, make, and keep the platonic loves of their lives - their friends.

We’re raised to believe friendship is intuitive—that we just know how to be a friend.
But the truth is, friendship isn’t instinct. It’s intention.

The Best Friend Project is a groundbreaking national study and storytelling initiative exploring how women find, make, and keep the platonic loves of their lives: their friends. We’re gathering real friendship stories —the laughter, the distance, the breakups, the grace—to uncover how friendships begin, what makes them last, and how we can let them go with empathy, instead of regret.

The survey opened Nov 15, 2025, and will close on Feb 15, 2026.

Take the survey. Share your story.

Your Story. Heard.

  • SURVEY

Do you have a “Best Friend”…or did you? How did you meet? Do you have a sister? Were you close with your mom? When did life change your friendship dynamic? How do you argue?

The questions that haven’t been asked.

  • PODCAST

It is YOUR story. And no one tells it better than you. Are you ready to reconnect with someone? Settle a score? Own your sh*t? Or let the world in on your secret to having the greatest friends ever?

The story that needs to be told.

  • BOOK

Your words become our sanity. Is there something you wish you, or she, had said? Write it here. Tell her. Finish the prompts, or chose an open topic. First names only or stay anonymous.

The space to finally let her know…

“Simply taking this survey helped rethink my role in a lost friendship. I internalized a friends comment, on my wedding day, and haven’t spoken to her since. But I really can’t even remember what she even said. I just know I miss her.”
